Dryness in the skin occurs when the skin is producing too little oil, as opposed to dehydration which occurs when there is excessive water loss from the skin. Both oily and dry skins can be dehydrated. Ultraceuticals moisturizers are designed to address dehydration and work to nourish the skin's surface layers. It is important to choose a moisturizer that is suitable for your skin type. Thicker, creamier moisturizers (that contain more oils) are normally recommended for drier skin types, while oilier skin types might prefer lighter lotions (that contain fewer oils).

- Disappointing & dried out my skinI opted to give this moisturizer a try in place of the regular Ultra Moisturizer, hoping it would live up the claims of brightening, hydrating, and smoothing my winter skin. For me, it didn't live up to the description — at all. The consistency was nice, but other than that, it completely dried out my skin and made it blotchy and red. And since it was so dried out, I definitely was not looking radiant — more so, irritated and dull. I've tried to get in contact with the company, but have yet to hear back. I loved the regular Moisturizer, but after the experience with this product as well as the lack of customer service (no returns? In 2022, really?), not sure if I'll continue supporting this company when there are so many alternatives.*Silky smoothI have dry skin & was recommended to use this product by my beautician. It's very, very smooth, & you only need a tiny amount. My skin feels a lot less dry, & my skin has stopped peeling.
